How Will Enforcement Officers Know That I've Paid? Will My Payment Show on the Meter?
On-Street:
Parkmobile payments integrate with the meters for on-street parking in Sacramento, but there may be a delay. In other words, payments made through the ParkMobile service may not immediately reflect on the meter, but the City will have a record of your payment. However, Parking Enforcement Officers will be able to lookup the payment status of any parking space.
Off-Street Parking Lots:
In the off-street parking lots, the Parking Enforcement Officers use an Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system to determine if your vehicle is paid. It is important to ensure that your license plate is entered correctly in the ParkMobile system so the license plate readers can find the payment. See this document for details on entering your license plate.
Zone Number Information and Range:
Zone numbers are a critical part of your transaction and must be recorded correctly in order for your parking session to be identified correctly by the parking enforcement officers. Zone numbers vary based on location. You MUST identify your ParkMobile zone number from the green ParkMobile sticker or your meter or pay station.
In Sacramento, the zone numbers range from 102 to 900094. Each on-street meter has a zone number specific to its corresponding parking space, so be sure to use the zone number for the proper space. In off-street lots, the zone number will be the same for the entire lot, but each space will have its own number, and both must be provided to pay for a parking session.
Pre-Payment Zones:
In certain zones in the City of Sacramento, you have the convenience of starting a ParkMobile session prior to the time paid parking takes effect. For example, if paid parking begins at 8:00AM and you park at 7:30AM, select the total amount of time you wish to park and you will only be charged for time past 8:00AM; you will not be charged for the time from 7:30AM – 8:00AM.
Area Specific ParkMobile Phone Number:
The ParkMobile phone number to reach the automated system to register and/or start or extend your parking sessions is: 916-722-7275 (916-SAC-PARK). If you are parking in Sacramento and call any other ParkMobile phone number you will be at risk for paying in a zone in the wrong geographical area, in which case, the payment will not be applied to your meter or lot, and Parking Enforcement Officers in your area wouldn't see your parking payment.
Credit Cards Accepted:
The credit cards accepted in your area are: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express
Can transactions in zones in this area be stopped? Extended? Why or why not?
You can not stop a session once started. You must select the amount of time you want in advance and pay for that time with your credit card. If you chose more time than you needed, you will not be able to stop the session or get a refund.
You are able to extend your parking time, if you see that you need more than the amount you initially paid for, as long as you haven't already chosen the meter maximum. Example: if the meter maximum is 2 hours, and you chose 1 hour, you can then extend your session before it expires for an additional hour. Note that extensions are separate transactions, and therefore each extension carries a transaction fee as well.
