How do I use Parkmobile in Gated/Garage Facilities?

Do you park in a gated garage facility that displays Parkmobile signs and/or stickers?

If so, you can use the Parkmobile app to pay for your parking there. It's easy, and you may find the information shown below helpful when you are getting started.

IMPORTANT: There are two different ways to pay for parking with the Parkmobile app in gated/garage facilities. How you use the app depends on what type of equipment your parking operator has in place in the parking facility. To make it as simple as possible for you to know which one applies to you, the best way is to look for the Parkmobile sign in the gated facility where you park.

Below, we explain both and show two examples of Parkmobile signage. Look for the sign below that has the same type of instructions as the sign in your gated parking facility. Then, follow the instructions listed on that sign.

SECTION - GATED PARKING FACILITY TYPE 1

If the sign in the gated parking facility where you park looks like this, follow the instructions on that sign, as shown in this section:

This section outlines general instructions for using Parkmobile at your parking facility and detailed instructions for using the Parkmobile app to pay. You need to understand what to do at the gate and with your payment ticket, and how to use the Parkmobile app as part of the parking and payment process. We'll address both of these below.

How do I use the Parkmobile app to pay for my parking in the garage?

There are Parkmobile instructional signs posted at the gated/garage facility entrances where Parkmobile is offered as a payment option. The signs instruct you on how to use your account in your Parkmobile app to pay for your parking, and that information is shown here as well.

Are there step-by-step instructions of what I should see or do in the Parkmobile app?

As mentioned above, after downloading the app and registering your account, you will be ready to use it for the first time. To pay for your parking, you will need to access the Parkmobile app.

Here are the steps you can expect to see in the app:

  1. Log in to the app, then enter the zone number or scan the QR code on the Parkmobile signs
  2. You may need to select Scan Gated Parking Ticket
  3. A scanner will appear on your screen. Use your smart device to scan the barcode
    • Note: If you receive an error, you may be scanning a previously used ticket, or the facility doesn't allow this payment option. Be sure to check the parking facility signs for clarity.
  4. After a successful scan, a confirmation window will appear. Review the information for accuracy, then tap confirm to start the parking session.
  5. After you confirm, you will see a "Successfully Parked" notice window. This notice also includes instructions on what to do next. Tap "Ok" to close the window.
  6. The app will return you to the main Parkmobile app home screen. If you would like to see details such as payment, your active session will appear in the "Activity" section of the app within the hamburger settings menu (three horizontal lines).
    1. Note: The total amount will NOT be shown there. It is calculated after you scan the ticket and exit the facility.
  7. When you leave the facility, you are finished! There is nothing more to do in the app after you insert your ticket into the exit gate. If you tap the "Ready to Leave" button in the active session, it will remind you to insert your ticket to exit.
  8. Now that you have exited, your session will end. Your session price will be calculated, and you will receive a receipt via email. You can also see the session details in the History section of your app.

SECTION - GATED PARKING FACILITY TYPE 2

If the sticker at the entrance of the gated parking facility where you park looks like this, follow the instructions on that Parkmobile sticker, as shown in this section:

This section outlines general instructions for using Parkmobile at your parking facility and detailed instructions for using the Parkmobile app to pay using the second potential method of gated parking payment.

How do I use the Parkmobile app to pay for my parking in the garage?

There are Parkmobile instructional signs posted at the gated/garage facility entrances where Parkmobile is offered as a payment option. The signs instruct you on how to use your account in your Parkmobile app to pay for your parking, which is shown here as well. Your payment will be processed after each of the following steps. It will process through your Parkmobile app, and you will not need to present it at the gate or payment machine.

Are there step-by-step instructions on what I should see or do in the Parkmobile app?

Here are the steps you can expect to see in the app:

  1.  At the entrance to the gated facility, instead of taking the ticket as you normally do, you'll launch the Parkmobile app and do one of two things first.
    • Either enter the zone number posted on the Parkmobile sign or tap the SCAN button and the Generate QR Code button in the app. Scan the QR code in the app by holding your phone under the gate scanner until you hear a beep. The gate will rise to allow entry.
  2.  Once you are finished parking and return to your car, tap the 'Ready to Leave' button in your active session in the app
  3. A QR code will appear on your screen. The scan machine will alert that the scan is accepted, and the gate will rise to allow exit.
  4. Your payment will be calculated, charged to your payment method on file, and the payment session will deactivate. The session will no longer appear in your Sessions section of the app, but will appear in History instead.

Note: If you park in this type of facility and take the entry ticket rather than generating the QR code and scanning it upon entry, you will NOT be able to use the Parkmobile app to pay to exit during this visit. For these facilities, you must use the Parkmobile app at entry and exit
